COVID-19 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR GROUP TRAVEL TO ENGLAND

Updated 23rd Aug 2021

The rules depend on what country you are travelling from or have visited in the 10 days before travelling.

GREEN LIST COUNTRIES are: Austria. Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

BEFORE you travel to England everyone 11 or over must:

·       Take a COVID-19 test – you must take the test in the 3 days before you travel to England

·       Book and pre-pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England. (This can be done ‘at home’)

·       Complete a passenger locator form on-line – this includes the details of the two tests above and the actual host family address that you will be staying at.   Without this completed, entry will not be permitted.

AFTER you arrive in England you must take a COVID-19 test on or before Day 2. You do not need to quarantine unless the test result is positive.

Before your return flight you need to take a ‘Fit to Fly’ Covid test within 72 hours of flying (these are best done by ordering them, self-testing and posting the test 2 days before so results are e-mailed within 24 hours).

AMBER LIST COUNTRIES are all other European countries. As long as you have not been to a RED list country (e.g. Egypt, Tunisia)in the previous 2 weeks, then

BEFORE you travel to England everyone 18 or over must be fully vaccinated with an approved EMA certificate and everyone over 11 must:

·       Take a COVID-19 test – you must take the test in the 3 days before you travel to England

·       Book and pre-pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England (This can be done ‘at home’)

·       Complete a passenger locator form on-line – this includes the details of the two tests above and the actual host family address that you will be staying at.   Without this completed entry will not be permitted.

SOL will ensure that all families test for Covid-19 prior to receiving students (lateral flow tests are freely available) and that shared facilities in the home are safely managed.

In the Centre, we will adopt sensible social distancing protocols but students are advised to have masks for visits to shops and other indoor places.

In the event of any illness, we will ensure a covid test is taken and that the requirements given by the Health Authority are followed and made in full consultation with the accompanying teacher.

In the event of travel restrictions making the journey to England impossible, we are offering a Plan B option to be made at booking. This is for an on-line course to be given at the time of the original course ‘transporting’ students to North Devon with our own unique and interactive programme!!  This will be available at a price close to the 10% deposit and be in lieu of it – but is non-returnable, acting as a guarantee to both parties that there will be such a provision in the (increasingly unlikely) event of travel remaining highly restricted next year.
