RADIO SERIES - THE MEDIA SHOW (4TH MAY @ 7PM)

World Press Freedom Day

A weekly current affairs programme on BBC Radio 4 which examines the current state of the British media. The first episode was broadcast at 13:30 on 1 October 2008 We’ll have a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly.

RELAXING YOGA (4TH MAY @ 8PM)

Every tired body and soul is welcome! This will be the second of a weekly session on Tuesday evenings, registering monthly.

GET YOUR YLE MOVING AND LEARNING (5TH MAY @ 5PM)

In this session several TPR activities that have proved to be successful both online and in real classroom will be presented. Through a demo class the participants will be able to see how the activities can be modified and adjusted to their teaching environment. Finally, through demo activities, the participants will get a broader perspective on the benefits of teaching YLE online. Target group: 4-6 yrs.

STORYTELLING FOR A BETTER WORLD (6TH MAY @ 4PM)

Social justice and other challenging issues are addressed through telling stories from the world’s oral cultures. What students learn from a story is not simply what happens in the story but in their response to it. Creative response tasks lead to insights about how to make the world better. We can engage students in creative communication in the English language classroom through simple learner-centred and purposeful storytelling and drama activities designed to get students talking freely and fluently. Through storytelling we can offer our students opportunities to appreciate cultural diversity.

BLENDED LEARNING ASSESSMENT CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS (6TH MAY @ 7PM)

Making assessment work in a Blended Learning by using the right approach and tools is crucial in the situation that we are in. This session specifically focuses on exploring a flexible approach where changes in assessment need to take place parallel to changes introduced in a blended learning environment. During this session, participants are going to share their thoughts and experiences on challenges and solutions for assessment practices in Blended Learning environment. Also, useful tools that support Blended Learning Assessment effectively will be explored through putting students’ hats on and getting involved in different hands-on activities

RADIO SERIES - A POINT OF VIEW (7TH MAY @ 7PM

The day after the Scottish Elections. Weekly reflections on topical stories in the news from a personal viewpoint. The day after the Scottish Government elections, the latest news on the results and their implications from a small town in Scotland.
